public record removal with no impact to score question

Hi, I just got an update on 4/6/14 from Equifax that a public record judgement was removed from my credit report after an investigation.  I reran my equifax credit report today and the judgement was removed, however the removal had no impact on my score.  Is this normal or does it take a month to have an impact? I was hoping to see a bump once this was removed as it was from 2012.

Thanks

It all depends on he rest of your file.  If it was your only baddie and holding you back, then its deletion would show a rise.  If you had other baddies, then not so much.

Re: public record removal with no impact to score question

My experience has been that EQ doesn't give points for a lot of things that MyFico does.  My EQ score is 519 but MyFico EQ is 620.

Re: public record removal with no impact to score question

Thanks, It was just odd since my equifax score is about 40 points lower then trans and experian. The only different line item on the equifax from the other two reports was the judgement so i figured the lower score was stemming from that item.

Thanks Again

Re: public record removal with no impact to score question

I once had five defaults go off my credit report at the same time and my credit score only went up 3 points!  It all depends on your credit report.  The thing is going from ten defaults to five is like going from super horrible to slightly less then super horrible.  It all depends on your situation.  On the other hand my credit score jumped 20 points when I opened an account and made one on-time payment.  This is because I have a whole bunch of old defaults, but didn't have any open credit lines.  Once again it depends on your profile.  Good luck!
