CRA response to Pre-Hippa Letter Please Help

I received a letter today from TU in response to Pre-Hippa letter,

Verification Documents not Available

We store information in our records as it is supplied to us by creditors. When information is disputed, we are required to investigate and record current status of the information. If you need to obtain documentation or written verification concerning your account, then please contact your creditors directly.

I don't understand what I'm suppose to do next.

This account is not paid.

I pulled TU before posting this and it does not show this account is disputed or verified.

Please help as to my next step in this process.

Thanks

Re: CRA response to Pre-Hippa Letter Please Help

When did TU receive your pre-HIPAA dispute? I assume the CA never sent you validation? Make a hard copy of this most recent TU report and save it along with the letter from TU. You might need it later if you have to file complaints with government agencies.

TU and the other CRAs are not supposed to share your PHI, in fact, they don't even access to it. The pre-HIPAA letter is intended to force the CRAs to make contact with the CA and have them validate the debt. With med collections, this usually doesn't happen and it is problematic.

Re: CRA response to Pre-Hippa Letter Please Help

Thank you for responding so promptly.

I sent the Pre- Hppa letter CM no RRR so I will give you the dates I have noted.

Sent letter on 4/8/09, letter dated from TU 4/15/09.

Fuse you are correct, I have heard NOTHING from the CA.

I have seperate files that I keep all of my CR papers in. I have been reading the boards and follow everything.

Wait until 5/08 in case the CA validates. If they do not, post again in this thread.
