Medical Collection Removal & HIPAA ...Clarification

Yeah how do you think I feel     I am confused now though. You wrote paying the collection may lower my score. However, I thought under the unpaid collection letter to the OC we are to give them a check.

I just messed up anyway due to impatience. SInce I wasnt sure what to do, I took a cashiers check to the Urgent care and did the restricted endorsement.

Just wanted to update my post. Received a notification last week from Experian regarding my online disputes - one of which was my medical collection. It was removed. I also received notification from EQ that the debt was verified. Yesterday, I receive a Scorewatch alert that my EQ has gone up 41pts. I set up the trial for TrueCredit and the medical collection has been removed from all reports. Looks like the OC had NCO pull. Whooo Hoooo.

Thank you.  I appreciate the information I received from you and Happy. Looks like THIS paying the OC with a restrictive endorsement worked. Definitely watching my mail and phone calls more closely in the future. This is stress I do not want to endure again
