Medical collections help

Is the med collection on your reports? yes

Is it paid or unpaid? Unpaid

If paid, who did you pay, the OC (original creditor: doctor, dentist, hospital, etc.) or the CA (collection agency)?

If unpaid, do you have the money to pay it off in full? No, since hospital did not file claim on time with insurance and have refused a settlement offer. Hospital and CC are going after current insurance

Do you remember the date(s) of treatment? No, its been over 9 years. Only after CA sent me copies of medical file from hospital with details of treatment.

Have you ever disputed the med collection? If yes, when and how? Yes, used letter from the threads to validate medical account. its been 30 days.

If you did dispute the collection, is it currently marked as "disputed and/or verified" on your report(s)? Verified, even though CA is combing old accounts with new ones and reporting them has 1 account.

Have you ever requested debt validation from the CA? If yes, what did they send you and when did you receive it?

I was sent a copies of my medical file that includes treatment, doctors names, insurance information. Inshort, copies of medical information for the dates of services, from finding to medications given at the time of service.

If you have already started any of the steps in the HIPAA letter process, please post the following in your initial post or your new post.

The steps you have already taken and when. Sent letter of validation to CB and CA

The letter(s) you have written: to whom, when and the result(s) from the letter(s). CB, Deleted some and updated 1 has been verfied. CA sent copies of medical records. This was done in the money of April. Just got the mail with updates from CA and CB.

Dod you send the lettter(s) CM, CMRRR, Priority Mail, etc.? CM

Did you send any dispute letters, DV letters, etc that were not part of the HIPAA letter process? No

What were the outcome(s) from the these letter(s)?  1 verfied , others have been deleted.

My question is: how do I get rid  of ADC listing since they are the ones giving me a tough time? The CA has included all bills i've had and reported them has one and changed dates of service to reflect 2006 instead 2002.

I sent just sent a letter for SOL and i'm awaiting their response. I've spoken to  Cigna and they have no record of the hospital filling a claim during that time period. 05/02.

Any suggestions?

Re: Medical collections help

I'm confused here. In the beginning of your post, you stated that treatment was more than 9 years ago. Med collections can only stay on you reports for seven years from the dates of treatment. This collection is past credit reporting time limits.

In the second part of your post, are you saying that you have various dates of service that are being lumped into one? And, has the OC been going by the most recent date? How much is owed on this one?

Re: Medical collections help

Yes, treatment was 9 years ago.  When LO pulled my credit it showed up on my credit DFR 06/06.

CA put all outstanding balances from hospital from 2001-2002  together and are reporting them has a lump sum. $250

I called hospital and the said insurance declined to pay because I was not insured at the time. Which makes sense since the current insurance cannot pay for that.

I sent a letter to CA of SOL.

Yes OC is going by most recent date.

CB updated has verified even though I stated in my letter of dispute it has past SOL and has been reported for over 7 years.

Secondly, the paper work sent to me by the CA shows dates of services from 2001/2002.

Hopefully this works.... I guess the mistake I made was to copy past the " questions".

Re: Medical collections help

This type of situation can be fixed, but it might take a long of time. The other problem is you NEVER want to be fixing credit and apping for a house at the same time. Bad things are bound to happen.

Re: Medical collections help

Credit was pulled by LO and loan was declined. Been fixing my credit and hopefully when I try for the second time I'm approved.

LO gave me copy of credit report and circled what disqualified me. I've worked on that for the past 2 months and I only have this medical bill and 2 cc to get rid of.
