Good evening.
I recently pulled my credit report and come to find out that there is a collection on there for $27. I have found out it is a medical collection. The Name of the collection company is on the report, but no account information.
To take care of this, being that it is so small, what is the best way to proceed? Should I write to CA and pay in full with stipulation that all negatives be deleted from all CR? Or should I go through the whole HIPPA process?
I am shocked to find this on my report. I remember no correspondence with the hospital or CA. It really isn't worth fighting over this amount as long as it disappears from my CR.
Thank you all for your input.
The name of the OC should be on a CR pulled direct from the CRAs.
Do not contact the CA!!! You can start the HIPAA process from the beginning....Do not miss a step!
Payment can be made to the OC using the OC letter after other steps are completed.
Be sure to use the restrictive endorsement when making payment!
