I could see you making her AU on a card because you have good credit...but her NEVER HAVING ACCESS TO THE CARD.

 

I made my daughter AU at 17 and now she's almost 19 and has an almost 700 score across the board and just opened her own Cap One account. 

 

 

So it CAN be helpful but there's no reason for her to need to use the card. She's getting a benefit just being AU on the account.
