Barclays Replacement card

Just received my Barclay's Reward replacement card and it's not even a tap card.  5 years before it expires...surely they can do better than that.  I know they use tap cards all over Europe where they're based.

Re: Barclays Replacement card

They may require you to request it. Some lenders don't automatically send contactless cards.

According to spotterswiki (which at least was once authoritative, I don't know about now), none of their products are available in contactless.

I'm not sure how up-to-date that source is these days, but my Aviator card was issued as contactless back in July and I believe the next replacement CC for my Lufthansa Miles & More is going to be contactless upon the expiration next month (based on the email notification I received).

That said, the other 2 CCs, JetBlue and Hawaiian remain the same.  Personally, it makes no difference for me since a variety of them are already loaded in my mobile wallets and the chip works just dandy.  I still have plenty others that don't have a chip 🤷

Re: Barclays Replacement card

Admit that I do appreciate contact less cards. As was mentioned some lenders do not automatically issue such a card until expiration or upon a contact from the card holder.

Several of my card are now contactless and I requested them (they were not automatically sent out). In the world we are in now contactless or smart phone apps is a good safety procedure.

Just got an alert when signing into my account that I could request a new Jetblue Plus contactless card. Request made.

And their Chip cards are cheaply made, I ordered a replacement card for my Rewards MC a year or so ago because the chip stopped working, now the Chip on the new card stopped working. When the Chip stops working you have to try it 3 times then you can swipe it, a PITA. Never had a problem with the Chip on any other card.
