Re: Capital One SAVOR card now metal.

It seems I'm in the same boat as @Rogue46 and will "qualify" for the metal version in the later half of March. Not sure how Cap1 decides these things but willing to try a few weeks later to find out.

Re: Capital One SAVOR card now metal.

Speaking of contactless Amex Platinum, does anyone know when Amex is gonna roll out contactless for the rest of their cards? I would love it on both my BCE and SimplyCash.

Not only that, I’d love for Amex to eventually make all of their cards flat like their Gold and Platinum after the updates. I’m sick of the embossed letters.

The BCE has been available contactless for a while. Just call and ask them for the contactless version. I use to have the contactless verion of that card. I am not sure about the SimplyCash card. Most AMEX cards can be had in the contactless version. I wish all of there cards were flat too!

Back OT - I may order a replacement Savor card later this month to see if I get the metal version. I have a Visa Savor.

You were right! Got both of my cards contactless coming in the mail within the week. Simply chatted with CS. Took about 5 minutes. Now all I need is for Discover to make their’s contactless and I’m set.

Re: Has it been discussed that Savor cards are now metal?

After hearing about the SNAZZY SAVOR in metal, I called Cap One and ordered a replacement card through their automated system. It arrived yesterday in all its plastic glory. Smiley Frustrated Got on the online chat and asked the rep if they could send me a metal card and he said, "Sure!" Supposed to be here within a week. We shall see what shows up!

One practice I really don't like is banks sending out credit cards that are already activated and ready to use. I prefer having to activate the card myself for obvious reasons!

ETA: My Savor was a Plat upgrade and is grandfathered in with the no-AF group.

Just an update: It's been a week since I requested the metal Savor via chat, and no card has arrived and I never received an email notice that it had even shipped. I opened another chat and asked about it, and they don't show that a metal card was ever sent out. Then the rep wanted to claim a card was lost/stolen ( which it wasn't) so I asked why and they gave me to another chat rep. She realized that it wasn't a lost card issue and said I had to call in to an Account Specialist and that she would note the account to make it easier when I called. Just got off the phone and the really nice rep told me that she could see all of the chat notes and apologized that the original chat rep last week didn't take care of it. She said a metal card (with the same account #) would be sent out and I will have it in 4-6 days.

Tune in next week for the continuing saga! Smiley LOL

Re: Has it been discussed that Savor cards are now metal?

As I mentioned somewhere upthread, I requested a new card for DH after he lost his. The replacement was metal, so I Immediately jumped online, and ordered a replacement for me using the damaged option. Just received my replacement for a “damaged” card, and it is metal.

I was waiting for another one of these data points. Smiley Happy

Come to think of it, my Savor has a scuff mark on the mag stripe and I sure don't want to have any trouble with my card working... whistle.gif
