Eating Healthy on a Budget

Fellow Fico Folks-

Wanted to pitch this to the group as I imagine there are others in there that appreciate pinching pennies.

Re: Eating Healthy on a Budget

Cook.

A simple but powerful idea. Buy plain vegetables, meat and grains. It's cheaper and you can control the fat and salt content.

Of course, the next factor is time. I like to roast vegetables at low temperatures in large quantities, then eat them over 2 or 3 days.

A pressure cooker can be useful for beans and grains, or you can do more complicated dishes in it. An old Instant Pot thread: https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/SmorgasBoard/Instant-Pot/m-p/5304715#M65124
