This was quite a nice surprise. I have been close; 844, 842, 845, but never 850.
When I started out, this board has contributed so much to me and my credit score health that I cannot thank each and everyone of you enough.
From the backdoor numbers, to the Amex 3X increase and Discover CLs, every single one of these factors contributed to me having a score I can be proud of when applying for credit.
To all of you that are just starting your journey - hang in there, learn from the wealth of information the myFICO forums is, make payments on-time and let time do its thing.
Thank you again for all of the contributions.
Congratulations on your success! I agree with the second part as well, I was able to go into the 750s with the help of this forum!
Thank you! I honestly did not know whether it was a possibility, or some elusive number that no-one can attain, or should really care about. 700s plus income are all you really need, but it was truly a nice surprise to see, and across all three bureaus. Now let's hope my next application manager doesn't think it is some error and deny me
Congrats on achieving the Holy Grail of credit scores!!!
Thank you! Appreciate it. I feel like FICO should send me a balloon or a cake
Your scores are moving there slowly but surely. I'll see you soon in this ... club? I don't know, maybe we will make tshirts
Congrats, OP!
I'm wondering whether the VantageScore 3.0 AmEx provides hit 850 a long while before your FICO 8's did. Mine is 20+ points higher and I'm curious if that will be a good indicator of when my scores will rebound from my "credit-seeking behavior" displayed the last year or so.
Congrats! This gives lots of inspiration for everyone here to achieve the same!
FICO 8 | Inq/12 | 30/60/90 Lates | AAoA | |
EX | 781 | 1 | 4/0/0 | 9 yr 3 mo |
EQ | 793 | 1 | 3/1/0 | 8 yr 6 mo |
TU | 777 | 1 | 4/0/1 | 8 yr 9 mo |
Congrats! I think you just won at life. Hopefully I'll be there in day. A decade down the road probably.
Thank you!
Funny thing about the Vantage Score 3.0: it has gotten to 811 when I was in the 840s and then slowly began going down. It is currently at 801 whereas FICO 8 is at 850
So at some points, a while ago when I was intensly tracking them both, I did see some correlation between the two (where Vantage going up reflected real FICO going up - some time in the future), but then they just decided to go their separate ways and became contracdictory. I was in a good enough place (with my score) that I stopped tracking them and trying to find the correlations.
So yes and no. I think the disassociation began in the 800s, so until then it can be something that reflects the path you are on.
Thank you! This board gave me a wealth of knowledge so I just wanted to share something unique, and I am humbled if it gives someone inspiration (because I just did what I learned here, and the computer algorithms did the rest).
But I did start with a $300 Capital One Secured card prior to coming here, so the sky is the limit with the knowledge this board provides (whether it is CLIs or FICO score increases).
