@Svthhvn wrote:@wasCB14 That's true. But scratches out of thin air? What plausible explanation is there? 2 people sitting side by side, one minute zero scratches, next minute 4.... wind isn't gonna do that!!
Maybe some cushion-stuffing feathers with rough bases / "quill ends" were sticking out and scraped her as she moved her arm? Some coarse material used for stitching?
Maybe she got bitten by a spider and had started scratching the bite without realizing it?
Maybe she was exposed to some sort of chemical or allergen earlier and started scratching?
Maybe the underpants gnomes did it. There's about as much evidence supporting their existence as that of ghosts.
I have underpants gnomes at my house!!! Didn't know anyone else knew they existed.. I was my kids underwear and in 1 day all 50 pairs are magically dirty again!! 🤷♀️😂😂

Sure. It could be something else I didn't think of.
Lots of things are unexplained. But that doesn't mean people should jump to silly explanations without rigorous evidence.
Before supporting such a claim, study the scratches under a microscope for stray matter. Do chemical assays of a tissue sample. Look for abberant DNA.
@Svthhvn wrote:Ok wait. So @Brian_Earl_Spilner you and your wife were sitting on the couch one night and scratches appeared on her arm out of nowhere??? Ahh heck no!! I'd have been gone at that point!!👀
Basically. She yelped and looked at her arm. Said she felt something. There was nothing there at first and then the scratches welted up while we watched.
