Re: Let’s all be honest...how many credit cards have we all added the last 24 months?

I'm at 11/24, after one card just aged to the 24 month point yesterday. That does not include 4 amex biz cards, since they don't report to personal CB unless i mess up.

3/24, 2/12, 0/6

Rebuilding, attempting to get reports 100% clean. Planned on gardening until end of the year but that was based on lender preferences for cards I no longer want.

Might try my luck next month depending on how scores look but with low expectations.

DW is 6/24, 3/12, and 0/6.

I am 11/24, 7/12, and 7/6.

She'll be at 0/12 before she jumps the garden fence.

I may or may not wait for 0/12, I'm still missing information.

We shall see.

I guess I gotta update this now...

16/24, 4/12, 4/6

That was a great spree this month! Sad to see it come to an end but I got 5/24 plans in November.

Re: Let’s all be honest...how many credit cards have we all added the last 24 months?

Well, not as bad as I thought but still excessive:  14/12 and that doesn't include the 2HPs I had to take to graduate my USBAnk secured cards. I'm 19/24... only my Discover card is older than 2.

In my defense, I only had 4 cards as of 5/19... 3 of those were cap 1.  Cap 1 closed 2 of the 3.  The 3rd was Sony which was spared due to the Comenity acquisition.  So after Cap 1 shut down 4000 of my 7000 total credit, basically scrambled to replace the credit limits and trade lines with secured cards before the Cap 1 closures hit my reports.

I would like to try for my 3rd navy card in June... then after that, just grow and take a weed-whacker to a few (last Credit 1, Newegg and maybe on US Bank card that's stuck at 300 bucks since graduation.)

I've alienated Disco and can't get a CLI because they say I have too many bank cards.  That card is bucketed anyway so will probably sock-drawer it to grow my other cards.  I still have a Citi secured that will be 24 months old next month.  If it doesn't graduate, will probably tell them to give me my money back.  It's basically sock-drawered right now.

However, that may change soon. A commonly favored card is calling me all day, even while I'm sleeping. 🥺

Re: Let’s all be honest...how many credit cards have we all added the last 24 months?

I started rebuilding in Aug of 2019 and have stuck with my hard rule of only having three cards:

I started with a secured Discover (unsecured seven months after opening; eventually pc'd to the IT, then cancelled in Feb of this year).

My second card (Sept 2019) was the Capital One Mastercard;"upgraded" to Quicksilver after three months; cancelled at the one year mark after finding out that it wasn't REALLY a Quicksilver.

My next card (June 2020) was the Amex BCE.

I got two cards in Sept 2020:  a legit Quicksilver and the Freedom Flex.

Tomorrow I'll be applying for the Citi Double Cash (*edit* oops...I meant Custom Cash), which will effectively replace the Quicksilver in my wallet, but I won't be cancelling it.

Ha yeah I was busy! 😂

I got pretty far for someone who had a BK when he did all of that spreeing!
