One of my favorite places

I hated to see Fry's electronics close. It was one of my favorite places. I found my old store credit card in the desk drawer today. Spent a lot of money there. The promos are where that card came in handy. 12 months same as cash with no interest on promo items.

I used to like to go to the stores in Mountain View or Sunnyvale, and later the one in Alpharetta GA,  when I could break away for a couple of hours while traveling for work but the last time I visited the Alpharetta store it was obvious just by looking at the amount of inventory on the shelves that they were slipping badly.   It was no surprise to read that they had gone belly-up.

Used to be a fun place to visit, even Micro Center badly pales in comparison to what they once were.

In following on the topic ... I loved Circuit City and Radio Shack. Both long since something in the review mirror.

Did save two full containers of parts and equipment since finding much of it is difficult. My own home radio shack has served me well over and over.

add You-Do-It Electronics to the list as of later this year, they're a bit of an institution in eastern Massachusetts.
