Physical card maintenance

What do you guys do to take care of your little helpers? I've only had my new, black card (NFCU Flagship Rewards) a week but it's getting pretty scratched up. Are there any tips for keeping your cards shiny and happy?

Re: Physical card maintenance

A better wallet would help I would think, but as 09Lexie mentions non usage may be teh ultimate best way. All those nice soft socks do much less damage than a purse/wallet does.

Re: Physical card maintenance

In that case, my CapitalOne card will be the prettiest of the bunch in a few years. It's fine tho, a few blemishes adds character. Cat Wink

Re: Physical card maintenance

I have a small front pocket wallet where the cards sit on top of each other, and I use tyvek card sleeves. I cut them down to as small as possible so they just hide inside the wallet. Once they break in they're soft and strong and easy to work with. Right now my new CSP is naked in my wallet because I think it'll look nicer roughed up a little.

Re: Physical card maintenance

I believe new wallets help keep the cards looking fresh, Back when my wallet was new, the cards looked fresh for months even on heavy usage (Taking out and putting in, etc.), But now that the wallet is old and raggedy, The newest cards I've put in come out looking horrible.

Time to upgrade my wallet!

Re: Physical card maintenance

I use mine normally and request new card(s) about once a year if they get badly scratched otherwise I'll just keep them.
