Has any one use Red Pocket Mobile? Do you like it. Thank you and be safe.
My Wife had it. It's great for the price if you buy in bulk from eBay; they have their own storefront. Sales happen every so often too to get even a better deal.
She often complained about speeds being slow at random intervals which was a pain to deal with. She had a 5GB limit every month and paid $170 for the year I believe.
They're fine but expect service slowdowns and carrier features to lag behind.

Run away. I got a Red Pocket GSMA SIM during their Black Friday sale. 22GB for $5. Got it and activated it in my phone and could not make any calls or use data. Got on with customer service to chat and she manually activated it. My data then worked, then dropped out. I toggled airplane mode and it worked for a bit before it dropped out again. Toggled airplane mode one more time and data came back but all of my incoming calls were bounced, not even sent to voicemail.
I know this wasn't an AT&T problem because my eSIM I got from DENT uses AT&T data and worked the whole time (in fact I've never had a problem with it despite the fact it's international roaming data). I tossed the Red Pocket SIM in the trash.
There are tons of MVNOs out there. If you check out www.prepaidcompare.net there is a tool that you put in your minute, text, and data needs and it shows you plans. You can even narrow it down by carrier.
Some of the best options are T-Mobile Simply Prepaid and T-Mobile Connect as well as AT&T Prepaid. They're direct from carrier options that don't have last priority network data like Verizon Prepaid and many MVNOs do.
I have Tello and have been extremely happy with it but they are still currently on Sprint (although they're supposed to be moving to T-Mobile sometime this month) so if Sprint is great in your area, highly recommend them. I quite enjoy my $6 a month phone bill (I have very minimal usage needs but up until you get past 8GB of data, their plans are among the cheapest around).

When i want to buy a new apple phone, how do go about getting a phone plan from a different carrier instead of using the plan from where i got the phone? Hope i"m wording it right. Lot of good information you gave me. Thank you.

If you're financing it through the iPhone Upgrade Program, you're required to get it with a carrier (but it still comes unlocked direct from Apple unless it's on AT&T NEXT financing) - if you buy it outright or use Apple Card financing, you just choose the SIM-free option.
If you are buying it directly from a carrier, I would need to know which carrier to be able to look up their unlock policy.

If you buy direct from Apple, just go for the SIM-free model. That's what I did with my 12 Pro Max and it's working great on Tello. ![]()
