From December 2019 to November 2020 I went on a crazy app spree. I added 11 personal cards and 1 business card during that period. All those cards made sense for me to get but unfortunately it also locked me out from adding more Chase cards. This month my first 2 cards from the app spree turn/turned 2 years old.
Now the fun begins! Each month, excluding January, I'll have a card/cards turn 2 years old, getting me another step closer to 4/24 and lower! There's literally only 1 card on my radar, the Chase Ink Cash, so once I reach 4/24 I should be able to maintain being eligible for Chase cards should something ever catch my eye going forward!
I did successfully garden for 13 months to get my other remaining goal card, the US Bank Cash+ this month. I temporarily had dropped from 11/24 to 9/24 but with that approval I'm back at 10/24 for now. Let the gardening resume and the countdown begin!😃
Congrats on working to get under 5/24.
Do let us know how the Chase Ink Cash app goes - mine was denied after waiting to be at 4/24.
You do know that some co-branded Chase cards are allowing you to exceed 5/24 ?

@4sallypat Thank you! Will do! I'm so sorry to hear about your denial!😔🙁 Did you try to recon it ?
Thank you for the tip about 5/24 and cobranded cards. I've been hearing about the approvals bypassing 5/24. From what I've seen it's been the Amazon Prime, Southwest cards and the United cards. The only one I'd be interested in, the Amazon Prime card, I already have. I appreciate the info though! Hopefully soon you can get your Ink Cash card! Rooting for you!
Ah yes, the old Forced Gardening trick! I've been there, though maybe not from these heights
Congrats on all your approvals, and hopefully nothing distracts you on your quest
May the force be with you @Jordan23ww .

@NRB525 😂🤣😂 Thank you! Hopefully I can stay the course. I was once 11/24 so this definitely is not a done deal!😜
I just counted mine and am 11/24. I didn't realize I'm going to drop to 3/24 this June. Was actually a bit shocked. The plan was to not app for anything until 1/2024. I might take a detour....
I am trying to understand the Chase 5/24 rule in relation to my profile. Are you considered under 5/24 when you have 5 new cards and the oldest card turns 2 years and 1 day or is it when the 4th oldest card turns 2 years? In my case would it be when my Discover card turns 2 years and 1 day or when my Navy Federal Flagship turns 2 years old?
