One short term is being fulfilled: heading to some German speaking countries for the next 3 weeks on Monday. We are hard at work on second short term goal: having a baby. Smiley Wink Long term: House!

Since you guys are buying houses as long term, how do you even start? Do you just look for a house you like, its price, and then you get your credit report pulled?

Re: What are your current SHORT term and LONG term goals right now?

Short term: Reach $10,000 in my Emergency Fund Savings

Long term: Save for a nice 20-30% downpayment for a house.  Haven't decided on how much I want to spend just yet though.

Very short term: Decide what's for dinner

I've got some cards. Some are pretty, some are ugly. Some are more useful than others.

We have a price range and we are aggressively saving for the 20% down. Other than that, just optimizing our scores so when the time comes our credit will be in perfect shape. I do keep an eye on our credit report, but do not pull it anymore than once a year.
