Re: What kind of car do you drive?

1998 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer. This beast is PIF long ago, but I am ready to garage it, for it only gets 13 MPG. Just bought a 2006 Ford Fusion that DD will rock. DF has 2006 Lexus GX470.

ETA: Next vehicle will be a new Infinity QX56. I don't mind the depreciation, b/c as you can see, I drive them until they can't be driven any more. Expo is coming up on 200,000 miles.

Oops: GX470 not LX470

Re: What kind of car do you drive?

We have a 2000 Dodge Caravan, DH drives a 96 Ford F150, DD has a 98 Pontiac Firebird, but we may be buying something new real soon since softball size hail is on the way right now and I got the kids ready in case we have to go to the basement. Happy Monday!

Take care wildcat!  I once had a mistubishi suffer about 50 dents from a hail storm in the school parking lot.  The front window cracked, too.  The car still had temp plates on it at the time..  ayyye!  All of the kids who drove aleros and grand ams lost both front and back windows.

Totally surreal -- stay safe!

Re: What kind of car do you drive?

Thanks WhirledPeas.....I think we may be in trouble because the sky is getting green....At least I rent the house so I don't have to worry about the roof. I would be mad if I had a new car that got hit. There has been many a time we have used dry ice to pop out little dents from hail but if we get softball size hail I think I will just call it a day and go shopping! LOL!

I drive a 2001 Saturn L200 and DW drives her 2003 Chrysler Town & Country eX. Looking to upgrade very soon to something bigger (need room for the 3 kids (more in the future) and any other passengers like folks, inlaws, outlaws, etc.). We need that bus.

Re: What kind of car do you drive?

2005 "New" Jetta....Love my car, Gretta the Jetta.  Bought new, paid cash (pulled out of my old deferred comp, not so bright, but was afraid I wouldn't get a loan).  Has everything, seat warmers, leather seats, and my personal favorite, heat on the outside mirrors to defrost.  LOVE IT with or without the bells and whistles.  Was going to buy a Mini Cooper, drove that, drove this, and said wow.  Real reason was 1) one of the tops in Safety and 2) Lumbar support, first car that my back (after 2 surgeries) feels good sitting in.

Before that , 1990 Honda Civic 3 door, Babette.  LOVED her.  Still putting around town with a new owner.

How many others name their cars ?

Re: What kind of car do you drive?

I drive a 2007 New Beetle - Laser Blue.  It replaced my 2002 New Beetle (diesel).  The 02 got 44 mpg.  No joke...

DH drives a 2005 Saturn sedan.  Bought it used last fall with only 25K on it.  Great car.

Some years ago a friend of mine replaced a clunker so old he didn't even bother going to a dealer, he had his wife follow him in the new car to a junkyard. Well IN THE DRIVEWAY OF THE JUNKYARD the engine died catastrophically with a horrendous noise, and the junkyard guy said with a chuckle, "you sure timed THAT exactly right!"
TU 791 02/11/2013, EQ 800 1/29/2011 , EX Plus FAKO 812, EX Vantage Score 955 3/19/2010 wife's EQ 9/23/2009 803
EX always was my highest when we could pull all three

Re: What kind of car do you drive?

My brother had a Ford Escort when he was in college. We went to take it to the junk man, and it died on the way there. I was following in my car, so I pushed it the remaining way with my car (just a few blocks). Got $40 for it.

Re: What kind of car do you drive?

Wow Byrdman 200k!  That's great as my 96 explorer is coming up on 125k.  Just rebuilt the tranny and it runs great!  That baby has pulled many a bobcat, trailer so it was definitely due for a tranny!

DD drives it now, ds(19) drove it when he was first beginning to drive and now I whole heartedly expect it to last for ds (13) to start out in!

I just prefer them to be in a bigger, older model of car for their first years of learning!!
