Re: What's your daily driver

Mine definitely changes depending on how you define daily driver.  I maximize rewards across numerous programs and actively use most of my cards. The one with the most swipes per month would be Amex Gold (4X restaurants, grocery) followed by Synchrony Rakuten Visa (online shopping for an extra 3X in Amex MRs) while the one with the most amount charged each month and the "non-category card" would be Amex Delta Reserve Business (for MQD waiver and Status Boost until $30k spend then switch to Amex BBP for 2X until next calendar year).

Re: What's your daily driver

I only have 3 personal cards, so mine's easy:

3% groceries, gas, and dining: Navy More Rewards

2% everything else: FNBO Evergreen

It's a solid 2-card setup. My third card is a Quicksilver, which I use for the occasional or recurrent small online purchases (virtual cards are great), but it's bucketed with a $300 CL, so there's not much else I can do with it.

I envy you, NOW I know that minimalist setup is ideal for a low spender like me lol, after indiscriminately applying and adding new cards in such haste! Had I known this site sooner 😭

You've got some good cards, like the Double Cash and the Freedom Flex. In fact, the Flex was the second card I applied for, but Chase shot me down. I went for the More Rewards instead, which turned out to be a very good choice, because my SL was over $8K, and 3 months later they gave me a +$8K increase. Which I think is the biggest argument for spreading out applications, at least for those of us who are new to credit. It's the best way to avoid toy limits. I do have a toy limit on my QS, but I was unscorable the time I applied, so given how Cap1 works, that was always going to happen. But my second card is over $16K.

The counter argument is more tradelines is more credit history, and the earlier you get the cards the less your average age will be hurt in the future. If you can grow those limits, you'll be in good shape.

Re: What's your daily driver

Top of the wallet:

Chase Sapphire Preferred (3.1 dining): to Hyatt (3.1 x 3.0=9.3)

Chase Ink Cash (2.0 gas): to Hyatt (2.0 x 3.0=6.0)

Citi Custom Cash (5.0 grocery): to Choice (5.0 x 1.7=8.5)

Side pocket:

Chase Freedom Flex (5.0 rotator): to Hyatt (5 x 3.0=15)

Chase Ink Business (1.5 misc biz): to Hyatt (1.5 x 3.0=4.5)

AMEX Green (3% transit): to Marriott (3.0 x 1.25=3.75)

CIC and CCC are about as well as I can do on the gas/groceries. The BCP has 6% cash back on groceries but you can't multiply it with any of the transfer partners. When the CFF has 5% gas or groceries I use it instead. AMEX Green I get some deals on parking and sometimes I take a dining deal, has some lounge access.

Sock Drawer:

Citi Premier: Need it for transferring my CCC points.

World of Hyatt: Bring it along for Hyatt stays.

Business Marriott: Bing it along for Mariott stays.

AMEX Amazon Biz: Only use it for Amazon.

NFCU Flagship: Only use it to pay for Amazon Prime.

Discover IT: Balance Transfer Card.

NASA FCU: Balance Transfer Card.

Truist: Was a BT Card at one point.

Official travel point totals as of 12/26/23 (1,382,693 Total Points)
Chase Ultimate Rewards 661,525 | IHG One Rewards 144,443 | Hilton Honors 143,801 | AMEX Membership Rewards 102,729 | World of Hyatt 90,413 | Marriott Bonvoy 65,343 | Citi Thank You 62,712 | Wells Fargo Rewards 33,652 | Southwest Rapid Rewards 28,105 | United MileagePlus 13,316 | British Airways Avios 12,333 | Jet Blue TrueBlue 11,661 | NASA Platinum Rewards 1,883 | AA Advantage 1,744 | Navy Federal Rewards 792 | Delta Sky Miles 175 | Virgin Atlantic Virgin Points 100 | Lowes Business Rewards 6,992 ($69.92) | Amazon Rewards 475 ($4.75) | Discover CB 499 ($4.99)

Re: What's your daily driver

Amex Gold for almost everything.
Just started using BCP for gas

Delta Platinum for travel.

I applaud all of you who have the patience and commitment to rotate a bunch of cards to maximize rewards.  It takes too much thought for me to even attempt it.  I just stick with MR points (except for cash back for gas) and call it a day!Smiley Tongue

My Amex BCP is my most swiped card. I'm cash back oriented, but if I wanted points it would be an Amex Gold. Highest earnings goes to my Citi DC, recently PC'ed to CC. I will soon add a BofA PR, which I project will be my most swiped card and highest earner.

lol you really do have a perfect card lineup per your sig! I envy you. BCP is a perfect daily driver imo. I was thinking of apping for CC in the future, but maybe PCing like you could be an option(to use for sports events like Indian Wells and NCAA), pairing with PenFed Cash maybe(Did become a member recently, nominal $5 parked on Savings). BA PR looks good too.

This for me as well, but adding in the quarterlies for Disco/Freedom/Flex. BCP most swiped through the year, but the Flex is catching up.

Re: What's your daily driver

A mix of cards depending on quarters. Use FNBO Visa Signature (like the FNBO Evergreen Card but older), Citi Custom Cash MC, US Banks Cash+ and Chase Ink Business Cash Visa. Earning more rewards now than ever. Closed several other cards that just were not yielding points/cash! Smiley Happy
