Has anyone updated to W11?
Was the process smooth?
How long did the update take?
Is it a new experience or just subtle changes?
I have been holding off to W11 on my HP Pavilion for a few weeks now.
Definitely not a new experience. It seems to me more of a big update to 10 than an all new Windows.
I've been running it in a couple virtual machines since before it was officially released, and haven't had any major problems or needed much of a learning curve.
My old laptop that I've had for close to 10 years was rejected for the update by Microsoft due to baseline hardware configuration. It's been a great laptop (early gen i3, 4 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD) and still has plenty of power for what I use it for. I laughed out loud and closed the lid on the laptop.
Thanks @rostrow416 . I allowed the upgrade. It was easy and fairly painless in my case.
Had the software to do it's thing early this morning and signed in to Windows 11.
.
haha @RobertJ Usually, everything crashes on me but I have a fairly new mid- level touch screen laptop:
Intel Core i3 (11th gen) 3.0 GHz
8 GB of RAM
Linux here. Runs on a toaster Windows 8.1 was as far as I could stand.
~Is it 2023 yet?~
