I feel like the cards look more ugly with a giant chip in them. Now that cards are going more digital / tap to pay - i hope they remove the chip all togeather and restore the beauty of what cards used to look like. (i probably am alone in thinking this lol)
IME, if the card has a design I like then I do not really mind the chip but yes I do prefer the appearance of a card without it.
I noticed in your signature your NavyFed cards have the appearance of a chip. While both my Flagship and Platinum do not display a visible chip, they both have the tap-to-pay function.
I don't mind the chip. Especially since it's more secure than magstripe.

I guess I had forgot about that and that has more importance to me!

If your card is contactless but doesn't have a chip, it means it uses the legacy MSD contactless system that was used in the USA before we finally got EMV. I don't think MSD contactless cards work anymore. Contactless cards and machines in Europe have always used EMV contactless, which is now the international system.
Yep! Thought I was the only one, sliding is much easier than inserting and waiting haha. I hate it!
The cards looked nicer without the chip, but what is more important is they are more secure. Chip cards also gurantees the funds to the retailers that accepted it, where in the swipe days the retailer lost out on a fradulent charge.

I preferred swipe and go. Much quicker.
No love for the credit card imprinter and big blocky raised numbers?
