how come bank transfers aren't processed on the weekends/holidays?

It's a really dumb question, but how come transactions such as bank transfers or bill payments don't get processed on the weekends or holidays? Aren't most of these operated by computers nowadays and there's really no need for human oversight? Thanks.

It's cause of the ACH, which doesn't operate on weekends/holidays, just like normal banks. Hence no processing those days. It is all computer now a days, but for some reason these "computers" or whatever don't operate on weekends/holidays.

There is no one working at the federal reserve who has oversight and facilitates the transfers and interbank loans to complete it all.
