I never understood the allure of getting to your destination and then sitting on a lounge. I’d rather sit in a hotel or my house.
The only reason I can see this being an issue is if you were using the lounge as a business meeting location at your destination if doing a short turn but then again. If your doing a short turn you will have a departure boarding pass to problem avoided.
The most common appeal is free food and/or drinks for the member and guests. It's not the only thing, though.
Recently I landed at LAX during rush hour. The renovated Sky Club was not only a place to get decent food for free, it was also a place to wait 45 mins for Uber trip times (and prices!) to fall.
