So back in 2019 I fell behind on my SL to the tune of 150 days. Since then I have caught up and had perfect payment histiry including making payments during covid forebearance. However, those 150 day lates (29 of them) are going to hurt for a LONG time. If I would have waited a month or two more to straighten things out and gone into default, am I right in thinking that rehab would have gotten rid of the lates?
Honestly, it's a roll of the dice (mostly based on servicer).
Rehab would have ONLY gotten rid of the default (by law), it does not guarantee removal of lates, though some servicers do remove them.
