Hello, I have a couple private Sallie Mae loans that went to collections in 2015. I understand that you cannot do pay for delete with educational loans. Does anyone know of any methods to remove these derogatory accounts from collections?
Have not started paying on the accounts yet. Was also hoping to get more info on the topic before I start paying them back. Is there a way to remove them from collections without paying them back with one lump-sum payment? thanks
You can call the department of education and set up a repayment plan. After several on time payments you can place your loan into rehab which will put you in good standing after 9 payments I believe.
