Re: Need to take out a private student loan. Recommendations?

Grad Plus covers up to the full cost of attendance which usually is an overestimated cost of living included...I understand it's a family of 6, but how can you not make ends meet with the scholarships and grants already on top of Grad Plus?

If your scores in your signature are representative of where you're at now, I can't imagine you're going to be able to secure a private loan without a cosigner, but check the usual suspects like Navient and Discover.

I'm assuming you've already used the total amount available to you through Federal Loans,

I would suggest going through well-known and trusted banks first, and possibly only through them if you can.

There are other private lenders like Sallie Mae, College Ave etc ... But many people have had terrible experiences with them and I've seen posts saying those types of loans have ruined their life. I'm not sure about any of the context, maybe they were irresponsible or didn't read the terms but always be careful.

I'm a college student and my top recommendation to you would be to look into Wells-Fargo and Navy Federal student loans. I've heard the least amount of complaints about these. I've actually heard zero.

Good luck, update us on how things go.
