My husband completed his rehab for his student loans and has made a few payments. Upon looking on his CR, I still see the Navient history and they are still listed as negative and not current like the Nelnet ones show. Is this something I should have him dispute?
Clearing old lates or other bad information is at the discretion of the lender. If I remember Navient does not do that when in rehab in most cases. This is one of those cases that it is preferable to not rock the boat.
Below is a screenshot of my rehabbed loan from Credit Karma. As you can see the late payment history has remained as servicers are required to report late payment history even after rehab. However, the account status is now "Closed" instead of "Default." I believe servicers have a normal reporting cycle to update the account status - so maybe give them 30 days to update?
