Paid off student loans that were in defult- should (can) try to remove them.

I had two defulted student loans.  I had gotten on a payment plan and then they stoped taking the money out of my account so I fell off. Earlier this year I paid one off in a settlement and the other completely off in one lump sum (willingly).  Should I try to remove the once defulted student loans?  Would this do more damage than good?  If I should take it off how can I do it?

Unless the reporting is inaccurate for some reason, your only option will be to wait for the accounts to age off or send goodwill letters to the lender asking them to adjust their reporting.  You may have luck with the GW letters, you may not, people's experiences vary greatly.
