Rehab Help

Good Morning all. A newbie here, referred by a good friend who says this forum is terrific. Hate to sponge off everyone, but just completed rehab on a 30 year old defaulted student loan. I have been transferred to Fed Loan servicing, but they will not answer the phone.  I Am unemployed for a bit due to a medical condition. Is there any chance for forebearence? or any other options? A orginal $3000 Stafford subsidized loan from 1990, that has balloned with interest to  $11k, which is fair. No excuses, just blew it off as a stupid young person. Thanks for your time

Re: Rehab Help

Hi @Anonymous -

Federal loans have the 0% forebearance/interest currently in place (at least until September), including older FFEL loans (info here: https://studentaid.gov/announcements-events/coronavirus).

Have you tried their chat or email options as well?
