Us dept of Ed/glelsi

Im going through the rehab process with my student loan through gc services. This month is my 7th payment and they are saying if I make 2 payments this month that I will be done with the rehab process. Anyone heard of this? I thought it was either 9 or 12 months, not 8 payments. My debt is 10,000 and I made a 500 good faith payment starting the rehab and I've been paying 125 a month directly from my account. Also is dept of Ed/glelsi the same as direct loans? I'm wondering if all negative TL will be removed, and around how long it takes for them to remove it? Thanks in advance!

Also the way I found out about all of this is I called trying to find out if I could complete my rehab early and after being transferred half a dozen times I ended up talking to a senior account specialist and she told me they will contact me before my next payment on the 25th of this month and work out a double payment and discuss the details of completing my rehab this month.

Re: Us dept of Ed/glelsi

I wouldn't bother with the double payment. My girlfriend and I have been working with GCServices over the past 12 months. She entered the rehab program 12 months ago and has made 12 on time payments. She was told that She would be rehabilitated at the end of October. They then said November. Then they said december. Now they are Saying there is no clear date that she will be rehabilitated due to the Department of Education switching systems/databases Over to a new system. We were told it could even be into February! The Department of Education confirmed the delay. Don't Beleive a word they say.
