Hello, I am new to this thread. I have two months before my last two adverse accounts drop off my credit report.
I have read and learned a lot from the forum before actually joining. Thank you so much. Looking forward to learning more and reaching my goals.

How did the month of March treat your finances? Did you hit any potholes or speedbumps? Achieve some milestones, either small or mighty? Change your goals or add new ones? March was an up and down month for me....One collection was removed and I got CLI on 4 of 8 CC. Bad news is, I spent a little too much time and money at the casino and when the balances report, I will probably feel the pain in my scores. But I am back in the saddle now, purchasing my first home is still my goal, and I plan to get my scores in shape before applying again. See details of my fico Fitness challenge below. Best of luck all!!!
Let us know how you're doing! What have been your biggest accomplishments and obstacles so far in the myFICO Fitness Challenge for 2014?
I would have NEVER thought I would say I was addicted to rebuilding my credit! I came up with the following plan for December 2013. I have to say thank you to all of you!!! I have gone from 30 negative accounts to 9. I don't have any unpaid baddies on my CR!!!! Now, its time to get rid of what I can and maintain my new TLs. I guess it may actually be time for me to join the Garden Club for at least 6 months. I plan to start applying for mortgage loans Spring 2014.
I will work my credit report following a priority system for communication efforts:
PR, Charge Offs, Unpaid Collections, Paid Collections, Lates on Open Accounts, Lates on Closed Accounts
I will pay my balances before the due date and make sure the balances are $0 before statement cuts. 12/18/2013 is still my magic date. I have been in the garden since February 7th....my new magic date will be closer to end of October.
I hope it's not too late to join this. I know my scores are pretty good, but I want them to be better -- just like everyone else, I'm sure. I've been pretty much making my scores stay the same each month, and I know that one of the best ways for me to get my scores up is just simply to not apply for anything else. I've got all of the credit cards I want at really limits that are more than acceptable for my salary/needs. I simply need to have patience and the strength to not apply for the sake of applying. I tried valiantly to garden as much as I could the past couple of months. Got a new credit card (Sallie Mae) and increased my limits on some of the cards -- so these reasons are bringing the scores back down.
I have been paying a significant portion of my revolving debt off from nursing school, so that has been great to see the balances go down. Of course, life happens to all of us and the balance ebbs and flows with regards to the final number. My goal each month is to end the month with less CC debt than I've started. Of course, my longterm goal is 0 CC debt -- I have about 10-11 more months of a 0% rate on my Slate. (Owe 5k -- I know this can and will be done by that time.) My other concern is my love to buy things. I will buy things for the sake of buying them sometimes, and especially for my sister's family. I love them, and they are so far away! (Alaska)
Well, hope this post wasn't too long. It's nice reading everyone's stories. I wish everyone nothing but the best!
Hello,
I am brand new here. I am looking forward to getting my credit back to 800. It will be a long road but can be done..
DON'T WORK FOR CREDIT CARDS ... MAKE CREDIT CARDS WORK FOR YOU!

Of all the addictions to have, this is probably the least harmful. I *TRY* to stay clear of things that will be harmful and addictive (gambling, e.g.) because I know I have a very addictive personality. Recovering Game addict.
I'm with you on the Cap1 gw. I swear I will have them removed if it takes me 3 years to do it!
Hey everyone,
I think March was good for me. I got a new card, lowering my overal utilization and thanks to Capital One's Steps program, I got an increase on my QuickSilver One card. Planning on gardening now. Checking my scores with credit sesame, walmart fico, and quizzle, my tu is the same, my eq has gone down and my ex has gone up. Don't know how much stock I should put into them, but as I'm not looking to pay every month, I'll take it as a ballpark number. Looking forward to getting this collection off (that shouldn't even be on there) and hopefully, it'll go up more. I've also joined the Great CC Payoff Challenge so it'll go up even more. Once they're paid off, I plan on only using them to keep them open. I'm going to call them all to ask how many months of inactivity before they close it. Hopefully, I can use them use them every couple of month as I will probably use them for rewards or extra purchase protection.

Hey guys,
I recently discovered this site while researching my second credit card. I acquired my first one, a Discover, about a year and a half ago. I just got approved for an AMEX BlueCash Preferred, so I'm feeling good right now.
I'm interested in beginning to increase my score while I'm still relatively young as I just looked at my credit score for the first time.
Thanks for having me!
