Take the myFICO Fitness Challenge
I am new to this forum and am excited about the opportunity to finally get my score up to my par. The tips have been very helpful here, thank you all. I'll post a progress report in 30 days, I just paid all my debts off and have sent goodwill letters to 3 CAs and just secured an installment loan. I have an ideal roadmap for the next 6-12 months.
much thanks.
Hi!
Just joined this challenge for the first time last week, but been working on my credit heavily since Jan 2013.
February was good to me, had 2 CA items deleted after paying them offand now working on another 2 CA items to be deleted, hopefully by April.
I'm just worried about March a bit, I did the Victoria Secret shopping cart trick and got the approval for $500, signed up for the optout option (as seen in other forums to boost points a bit), but then I got excited and tried to apply fro Walmart and got the message of mailing a decision in 7-10 business days...which I know will result in a HP (why did I do that?)
Let's see how it goes...I'll update when I can I guess. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Trying to go for a FHA mortgage in June 2013.
Thanks!
Not much change from Feb to March my EQ score went up 2 points :-) I was able to pay off about 4 accounts that were in collections but it didn't make much change...sooo I'm not sure just trying to continue clean up process.

Just paying your collections won't do it. FICO counts a paid collection pretty much the same as an unpaid collection. You have to get them deleted from your reports. Have you read about PFD in the rebuilding forums?
Pretty excited that in 6 weeks of being on myfico, I have increased my credit score from 653 to 715! Therefore, I am going to up my goal score from 720 to 740!
Your story is very motivating.. Keep up the good work and good luck on reaching your goals. :smileyhappy:
Just pulled credit for a mortgage app and it looks like I hit my goal of the 700 Club. All three scores were over 700 with the highest at 732! Couldn't have done it without reading all of the tips and tricks on this board. Even if people don't reply to your posts, please know that many of us are reading your stories and learning from them. Keep posting and good luck to everyone as they go through the improvment process.
