I know you are all hard at work with your credit goals. Have you progressed as far as you hoped? Were there any unforeseen expenses that cropped up and may have thrown you off schedule?
As a reminder, participation in these monthly check-ins are optional but encouraged. The goal is to help keep you on track, so feel free to post your progress updates here. This is a no-judgement zone; feel free to say what's keeping you up at night or give yourself a Kudo for having it all together.
Did you hit any potholes or speedbumps? Achieve some milestones, either small or mighty? Change your goals or add new ones?
Let us know how you're doing!
In reviewing last month's posting, September shapes up to be a quiet no action month.
Would love to see my Fico return to 850 (five years) but it is stuck on 805 Fico 8. Opened several new accounts and banking relationships. Since moving, I planned a different strategy and that caused hard inquirys.
Did refi my auto loan and closed a credit union I never would have had except the auto dealer placed the loan. Usually, I seek out my own financing ... guess I will continue doing the seeking ___!
Fighting off closing some more credit cards as I no longer have the spend to support. Suspect Discover will go when Cap1 is approved for the purchase. Really do not need the Chase Freedom Flex MC but Ultimate Rewards keeps me tethered with a Business account.
See you next month.
This month I plan on making an effort to focus on paying off debt, I had made progress, then fell backwards hitting a hump bump in the road..
After an eventful summer of paying off debt and new ccs, I'm just gardening this month and for foreseeable future. My scores took minor hits for the HPs and new accounts, as well as closing very small sub-prime accounts. I'm rolling with the punches and just looking to the future.
Right now, the financial focus is on making and saving money. And remembering that making art has many rewards, even though they are not monetary
Have a great September, all!
Hello, everyone! Happy September.
My EX8 is still at 735, my EQ8 is at 753, and my EQ9 is at 767, which I'm super happy about. i figured out that my scores jumped because the hard inquiry for my SavorOne became a year old in August and is no longer impacting my score (to my understanding). In some other good news, Navy Federal approved a CLI on my cashRewards, so what was a $2,000 limit has become a $3,000 one.
As per usual, I am gardening, though Chase has started offering me cards I'm allegedly "already approved for." I hope to get my EQ9 to 770 by the end of the year, and to get at least one of my scores to 800 by this point next year.
See you all in October!
Hello, checking in for September. My goal, which I set through Chase Credit Journey, is to have a score of 721, using Experian Vantage3, by 5/20/25. My current score is 708, up 2 points since August. There are some payments that I made that are not yet reflected in my score. I hope next month to reach the goal.
