Hi there--I'm starting to rebuild my credit today. I went through a bad time a little over a year ago, and everything went sideways. I started paying off the debt, and it's been about a year of that. I'm ready to do whatever I can to get my score to a place where I can buy a house in the next few years.
Since January 2022, I have been dedicated to rebuilding my credit. At that time, my average FICO score was 610. I am pleased to report that it has since increased significantly to an average of 749. Like many individuals, my aspiration is to join the esteemed 800 club by the conclusion of 2024. Additionally, I am committed to practicing financial prudence throughout the year to include gardening for the entire year. Wishing everyone success!
You will SUCCEED!
Hello.
I filed Ch. 7 BK and was discharged May 2017.
I started rebuilding credit and went thru a depression in 2021 and frankly didn't care about much at all during that time; including paying my bills on time. I carried this irresponsible behavior into 2022 with an all time low score in the high 400s.
I sobered up and started paying bills on time, paid down a significant portion of my debt. I got CLIs and added about 3 new cards to my existing 5.
In August of last year, my mortgage scores were 591, 602, 570. I had my loan officer repull last Sunday and my scores are now at 638, 634, and 613.
I don't think I need anymore cards with a total of 8. At this point I'd like to work on raising my overall limit on the cards I do have.
My total credit limit between all of the cards is ~$18,000.
Hi Fitness Challengers,
I am excited to join the MyFICO Fitness Challenge for the 1st time!
Financial situation:

Note on signature:
I cannot currently update my signature with the My FICO Fitness Challenge because my community rank has been downgraded to "New Visitor" due to the last 3 years of inactivity (that's why you do see an old signature from when I was last an active Member of this forum, but I cannot change it until my ranking progresses back to "Member").
Hello all, I started my credit rebuilding journey last month but just found out about myFICO last week. Some of my goals are to buy a home when i return to the states. I am currently serving in the military overseas. I haven't really been tracking my credit over the years so I have a lot to work on but I'm ready to start the journey. Here's my current scores
FICO Score 8:
Equifax 632 | TransUnion 649 | Experian 659

Hi all,
I've decided to take control and be proactive about getting my credit and finances back in order and I think this is just the right place to gian some valuable insight.
BLUF, after going through a divorce in 2019 and ensuing child support payments, my finances and subsequently credit took a nosedive. It has been a very humbling and insightful period thereafter as I had always prided myself in a strong financial profile. But life is full of surprises and I find myself rebounding now for the better. My incme has improved significantly, and the rebuild process is somethig I am excited to continue to do. My main goals inculde improving my FICO scores as much as possible over the next 6-8 months, and to get approved for a VA home loan (second VA loan, first was before divorce and just recently sold the property).
My starting scores (FICO Score 8):
21 March 2024 EQ 642 TU 620 EXP 644

Any tips and insight into the most beneficial actions to improve my credit profile, with an desired goal of purchasing a home in early 2025 would be greatly appreciated. I understand the missed mortgage payments need to age to at least 1 yr
For my first myFICO Fitness Challenge, I would like to go the rest of the year without opening any new accounts and reach Gold Spade status! My most recent account was opened on 4/4.
Depending on results, this may continue as Fitness Challenges to keep improving my Garden Club status each year until I reach Diamond!
