OK my goals for 2012

* refi my car in August with my credit union
AT THE PRESENT TIME, I'M WORKING TO IMPROVE MY CREDIT. SINCE I STARTED TO BUILD FROM SCRATCH IT'S TAKING ME A LITTLE LONGER THAN I THOUGHT. BUT I WANT TO BE ABLE TO SAY BY THE END OF THIS YEAR THAT THE DEBT WILL MOSTLY PAID OFF. I SURE THAT BY FOLLOWING MY PIERS AND THE INSIGHT THEY PROVIDE, THAT I WILL LEARN A THING OR TWO. BUT ONE THING FOR SURE IS THAT I WILL BE IN A BETTER POSITION THAN I'M IN NOW.
Hi All!!!
I tried to start this in September of 2011, but I had a lot of personal setbacks one being going through a divorce. So I am back in 2012 ready to start and complete. I have about 15 items (most of them charge-offs) on my credit report that are old and are between $115 to $600. My goal is to tackle one or two per month. Possibly to settle and ask for removal of most. I am not quite sure the best way to do this to increase my awful score. At least by the end of 2012 I would like to have everything besides my current student loans paid and or removed. The big items that I have is a charge off with Santander for $600, and then a Wells Fargo for $500. Any suggestions about what I need to do about those. I really would like to start with those items.

Hi there.
A good place to start would be the Rebuilding Your Credit board. Just go there and begin a new thread and you'll get excellent advice, suggestions, and encouragement.
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 3/11 pulled by lender- 835, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem".
2011 sum-up:
I didn't accomplish all the goals for 2011. I was not able to reach 760 for all 3 credit scores, but I did make all of my payments on time (paid credit cards in full, so no interest at all for 2011) and I paid extra toward my student loans. Although I had not planned it at the time I took the FICO fitness challenge in 2011, I also saved a 6 month emergency fund.
For 2012:
My goal scores for 2012 will be at least 760 for all 3 FICOs. I would like to set the goal higher, but until the negative marks on my credit reports age off, I don't think the scores can really go any higher. I will also continue to pay down student loans and build more savings with more of a focus on a down payment for a mortgage.
My current FICOs are TU 757; EQ 745 ; EX 764 (January 2012)
Good luck to everyone
