Re: $10,000 in CC Debt to $60 in One Day

Been alerted that 2 more cards reported as paid. When checking, Navy is showing as being paid, but EX hasn't alerted me to it. I won't factor Navy in for balance or score change. With me not being alerted to it, I'm going to assume it hasn't factored into scoring change yet.

Total revolving balance: $4712

Total card balance: $4712

Chargeoff balance: $1406

Aggregate utilization with chargeoff: 36%

Aggregate utilization w/o chargeoff: 28%

Cards left:

Delta Plat - 85.5%

Navy - 80%

PayPal - 89%

15 of 19 paid off, not including Gold or chargeoff.

All cards should have been reported as paid as of today, just waiting for bureaus and scores to update.

Few things I should note, have a paid off installment loan that's still reporting at 41%. Car is reporting at about 70%.

One collection was removed from EX as well. Don't know if that factored in to the score change, or not. EX has never alerted me to collection removals or their impact on score.

Ex +4

I have a feeling you may see some very noticable gains after those last three report.  Fingers crossed for you!

Just got an alert from myfico that the +3 points on EX is from Amex Gold reporting 0. Waiting for EX to update score from final card, Delta Platinum, reporting paid.

MyFICO alerts don't give you that kind of cause-and-effect information.

So they're just lumping 2 non-related things here? Don't understand why they would do that when they haven't with other scoring changes.

They may be related or they may be unrelated.

MyFICO alerts don't provide reasons for a score change. There are certain events which trigger MyFICO alerts. If there happens to be any difference between your present score at that particular bureau and the previous score reported to you from that bureau, the score change is tacked on to the alert. There is not necessarily any connection at all between the score change and the alert substance.

MyFICO explains this in the "learn more" link contained in the alert:

Why did my score go up when I got an alert for something negative (or why did my score go down when I got an alert for something positive)?
The short answer: Your FICO(TM) Score may change because of other events not monitored by an alert.
Whenever we send you a credit alert, we also send an updated FICO Score. To ensure you get the most current score, we calculate it based on your entire credit report at that point in time - not just the new information on the alert. This means your new score may reflect other changes that are outside of the things we watch for (see everything we monitor).
Sometimes you may see your score increase when you think it should've decreased, and vice-versa, but you'll always have your most up-to-date and accurate score."

Re: $10,000 in CC Debt to $60 in One Day

Curious as to why with all the cash you are throwing at the active balances you don't settle the CO? There's some DPs that the CO is viewed as "maxxed out" and the aggregate utilization we see on the reports is not what the algos are evaluating (you are actually penalized more). Either way, I think it's deifnitive that the outstanding balance on the CO is holding back your Util point gains.
