20% single card util - 3 pts.

Good morning.

Data point offering:

Put RE taxes on my Affinity card (SUB), bringing that card's util from 1% to 20%.  Overall util went to 2%.

This cost me 3 FICOs on Experian.

Thick, clean file.

 That is all.

Re: 20% single card util - 3 pts.

@expatCanuck, is this FICO 8?

I get dinged on the three Experian 98 scores when my AMEX balance reaches $147. That's 0.6125% of the card's 24k limit. And as of the last time I tested this, it was 0.19470198675497% of my total credit limits.

The last time I tested, my credit limits totaled 75.5k. I think I got the same result when my total limits were 72k. They're currently at 78.2k. I haven't tested since my last CLI.

I haven't tried two balances totaling $147. I should do that as I already know that these scores are unaffected by up to three balances. I did some of the testing on other cards, but I haven't tried leaving exactly $147 on any card other than AMEX.

Because the percentages involved are so wonky, I think FICO may be looking at actual dollar amounts rather than a percentage. I should do some more testing of this amount to see if it's still applicable.

Ah ok. Heres the other thread you were talking about. So weird how little util movements affects each person. #HeadScratcher
