AAoA thresholds? UPDATE 5/2/19

Re: AAoA thresholds?

I don't disagree with anything you're saying and no doubt I was talking about my profile in particular.

Honestly to me when we're talking optimizing something that's impacting a score something like 5 points it's really quite irrelevant outside of fun S&Gs conversations like we have in these threads.

Hey, we are doing this for the sake of science, right? We are studying how to optimize, right? It's either optimal or not. "Optimal" is superlative by definition. Having fun finding the breakpoints and reverse engineering tho! But yeah, I doubt anyone outside of MF cares much about the minutiae...I'm loving learning from you and everyone. (Edited.)

Re: in findRe: AAoA thresholds?

Right, but there's a clear different between optimal relative to everyone else and optimal based on the hand you're dealt (your own profile).  While some of us gurus do like to discuss optimal in the strict sense of the term I think equally as many do consider just optimal based on what they have to work with personally.  I suppose it's just important to make that distinction when having these conversations.

Very true. And you responded before I could edit, my bad and I agree totally. We should distinguish. You are correct.

Re: AAoA thresholds?

I don’t know that it is 5 points, actually I really doubt it is that small given how much EQ FICO 5 and EX FICO 2 move even on my scorecards.

Where are you getting your TU 04 from BBS?

The more salient point is that you were saying you had little difference between 2/8 and 8/8 on TU FICO 4 which goes against the grain and I know is not accurate for most people: fact is AZEO does matter unquestionably when it comes to things like mortgages, and while I have no intention of spending lots of cash detailing it out completely color me skeptical of your assertion that it doesn’t matter on that algorithm.

From my mortgage lender.

And it would be 8 points, not 5... based on the data I provided on the previous page.  So my likely 3rd reason statement is "worth" 8 points, meaning that length of time accounts have been established and length of time that revolving accounts have been established are worth more than 8 points.

Re: AAoA thresholds?

Regularly? Who is it?

Anyway I just went back and double checked for TU FICO 4: from 4/2/19 (after I got my 60D 1 year tick) where accounts with balances was #2 at 7/19 reporting a balance, moved 20 points at 3/18 reporting a balance and the reason code was gone.

That is an entire mortgage tier: 747 to 767.

I'm not saying that it doesn't matter on that algorithm, simply that it doesn't matter much on my profile.  And, if it doesn't matter much on my profile, it means it may not matter much on some other [similar] profiles.  That's all.  I'm not not a fan of blanket statements being thrown around on the forums when they don't cover all circumstances/profiles and if one of those profiles is mine I'm always going to be one to point that out.

Re: AAoA thresholds?

Whoa! BBS, You say that the higher the reason code, the more points its worth? Yeah? Didn't know that! Love learning! Thanks!

And I do wonder if signal strength may be suppressed for your # of accounts penalty for your TU FICO 04 as a result of your AoYA being >1 year and/or you having no inquiries within last year. Something to consider.
