@Anonymous wrote:I had a late from June 2013 on EQ from Cap One Auto and it also auto deleted at 3 months early (March 2020). I was a little surprised, but then saw your thread, and wanted to add my DP to it as well to show this seems to be the trend (not a hard fast rule).
Good to know it doesn't delete the string. I am wondering, though, because in September that will be my technical DOFD for the rest of the account. Will it still just drop one by one or will the whole account drop off? Whether it be August, November, or any time in between of this year or will I have to wait until May-August of next year to see the entire account removed when the very last entry hits 7 years? Just curious if anyone has DPs about this.
I will start watching it like a hawk starting in August and post any DPs!
I also have a 30d late from June 2013 on EQ,(7/2013)TU (6-7/2013)and EX 6-7-8/2013)
with Cap One Auto(my only derogatory) Account was paid and closed on 8/2013. I felt it
was best to let them age off on their own so I left it alone. To my surprise, EX auto deleted
the ENTIRE account in March 2020. I received an alert yesterday that TU deleted the June
late on my account, only the July late payment remains. I have heard nothing from EQ yet about
the July late payment they have on my account, all 3 credit bureaus had different months they
reported the late on.
I am assuming that the July late payment will be removed from EQ and TU at the same time and
I'll finally be clean. I am a bit perplexed as I have read, on numerous occasions, that you can't
request an EE on a late payment and just the late payment will be removed and the account will remain on
your credit report in good standing. Don't get me wrong, I am glad that they are finally being removed,
I was under the impression that just the lates would be removed but the account would remain.
Maybe someone can chime in to help me understand this.
Thanks in advance for your help

That's what I was wondering. I actually thinking it might be better if my CO was completely removed (correct me if I'm wrong) because in the remarks it states "charge off paid less than full balance" or something to that extent.
I was in a desperate situation and (1) didn't know that was an issue or would happen - I was credit naive and (2) it probably wouldn't have mattered too much in the moment because the situation overrode the bad mark on my credit - I needed every penny I could get at the time.
Thanks for the DPs and I am curious what will happen with the other CRAs in your situation.
I am personally a little surprised because the TL is only reported on EQ and is non-existent on the other 2 CRAs! * I am not complaining*
Good luck!

I am thinking where yours is a CO, EQ will just delete the entire account when its time. I hope that
someone else with more knowledge than I will chime in.
I wouldn't say you were credit naive, the situation with your mom being seriously ill is all that was
important to you at the time. You did what you thought you needed to do at that moment in time.
You're very fortunate that EQ was the only CRA they reported that CO to. I got the triple whammy
from Cap One Auto with them reporting to all 3 CRA's. As far as EX goes, that account is gone,
TU took the late payment from June off my report and EQ and TU have the July payment remaining,
so we'll see what happens in the next month or so. I know you're not complaining, as like myself,
you are very happy to get the the end of the line.
I do hope that things are going better for you and your family! Take care. Good luck to you as
well!
If you have COs, you're in a different position than this thread, which is only about how delinquencies age if left untouched. You will get better advice in the Rebuilding forum.
So I just want to understand
I have student loan accounts with fed loan 4 of them, still with balances
90 day late oct 2013
120+ day late november 2013-july 2014
How and when will these come off of my reports not in strings unfortunately excluding ex?
Also EE is not an option correct?

You might want to start a new thread detailing your own specific situation, including all derogs, to get better answers.
Final Update: EQ dropped the delinquencies a month earlier than predicted, so all of my reports are derog free! Along with the removal of several inquiries, my score shot up nearly 90 points and is now comfortably in the mid 800s. EX is also in the 800s, while TU lags in the 790s, possibly because it's more sensitive to new credit (inq in Oct; new credit in Jan) or lack of open installment loans. But back to the reports: it's nice to see all green squares and the words "Exceptional Payment History." Thanks, MFers!
Congratulations! I know this is a great feeling! Welcome to the 800 club
At Last! I'm finally clean on all bureaus!
TU and EQ had taken my first 30 day late last month and deleted the late payment. Experian deleted
the entire tradeline. A few days ago, TU and EQ deleted the entire tradeline. Scores went up to the Low 800's
and I'll gladly take it! Lesson learned, I won't be cosigning ever again!
Thanks to all for their help and their kind words!
