Closing Store Cards

I only have 1 store card opened September 2006. It is my oldest open revolving account. I do not need the limit for utilization. Will FICO penalize me if I close it down? It won't affect average age at all.

Re: Closing Store Cards

My JC Penny card would have been 30 years old next year but it died in DMP.  Still on my report though.  I also wouldnt close it.  Might cause a problem if you wanted one from the store again in the future.

I dont know why some CCCs blakclist you if you close one of their cards.  I would think they would want you back.
