Closing a credit card account - Increase in FICO score

Has anyone ever closed a credit card account(in good standing) and noticed an increase in their credit score?  I've had no change in my credit score for several months then as soon as my closed account reported I had a 4 point increase( FICO EX). Just curious to see if anyone noticed a correlation before.

If you build it, they will come.

Closing a credit card in no way would raise your card.  The closing however was what spurred the alert and the 4 point change, which is very minor, was caused by something else.  Only certain ‘events’ will cause an alert and they are listed here; What triggers FICO alerts.  Only those who are privy to every element of FICO’s algorithms would know everything that can cause a minor score change, you probably will never know what caused the 4 point change.

I agree with the above post.  Closing a CC would not ever result in a score gain.
