Credit history from when I was 3 years old?

Hi, I just checked my credit report for the first time, and they have me as having a Macy's card in good standing from 1983.  I know it's better to have credit for a long period of time, so I'm wondering if I should bother getting it corrected? I'm assuming it's my father's whose name is the same as mine.  I also have a Sears card with a small balance on it (according to the report) which isn't the case.

My FICO is 752 and I'm trying to get in the first tier which only is about 8 points higher.. will getting these corrected affect my score negatively to a large degree? Thanks in advance for help!

Honestly, I would leave it. That's some good age! Your score would probably drop if it got removed.

I'm sure that you are right. I guess no human hand ever touches these reports do they? You have a gentleman here who is saying he has credit history from age 3. His birthdate is on the credit reports I assume. Wonderful. I can get rate jacked based on the conclusions of this system and stuff like this slides.

Considering there are recorded cases where dogs have received credit card offers, it's not that surprising.

This isn't the CC company we're talking about here. This is supposed to be about some HTT Black Box Algo that can't even square age with age of TL's. Now that ain't rocket science. Now is that a flaw? That could be avoided very simply don't ya think?

As they say, you can make a system foolproof, but you can't make it damnfoolproof. Sooner or later there's going to be a screwup, and before you know it, Fido will have himself a FICO.

No one said the system is always fair. I hear ya though... The OP just got lucky and this kind of age is definately helping him.

Re: Credit history from when I was 3 years old?

My credit history goes back to when I was NEGATIVE three.  My parents listed me as an authorized signer on one of their 20+ year old cards back when I was 18 or so.  That account was still active and showed on my credit report a few years ago - it took me awhile to figure out why I had a card showing a few hundred dollars a month being paid but I had no idea what it was.  I did have it removed from my reports and it no longer appears, but my history still shows 40 years, and I'm not that old yet.
