@Anonymous wrote:Correct. It's a 100% meaningless score, no doubt. I just think it's worth noting that it is a "real" score, drawn upon an actual scoring model, as irrelevant as it may be.
Actually according to what TT once replied to me, VS3.0 is actually used in real estate rental pulls...at least that is what I'm remembering. If you are renting a house or apartment that Vantage score might actually be relevant.

Good to know. I know a few people have said that VS 3.0 was used for a cell phone/cable/utility pull as well, although I don't think it's incredibly common.
@Jnbmom wrote:Now yes I know the are FAKE scores and all and I do like it for monitoring of course, but today I got a recommendation email they think the Fingerhut card would be a good addition for my credit file I swear that site cracks me up.
Also I set up my daugter to CK so I can monitor the disputes I have ongoing, TU already deleted in a day HOWEVER it still appears on CK while I received notice from TU that is has been deleted. while EQ and EXP are taking the good old sweet time, anyhow after the TU deletion I bought her score 701, CK has it at 648. Just thought I would throw that out there
Does CK have a lagtime with deleting items?? The collection was removed from TU on tues 5/22/18, anyone know?
It's a free site. And if it's fake, why worry about what they have? And it's only been 6 days. Relax. It'll come off. If it's off TU, then you're good to go.

Well, I have no problem with whatever scoring model they are using. What bother's me is their suggestions which costed me a couple or more than couple unnecessary inquiries on my credit report. Ps I cant blame them alone thanks to my ignorance I could have avoided that if done homework and not applied for Amex/Venture before having any credit history of 6 months.

Their suggestions are only there for advertising dollars; them saying your have "good" or "fair" odds for approval for any product are complete BS and fluff. Always ignore any CMS suggestions regarding new products to apply for, be them CCs, loans, etc.
@Stugotsv10 wrote:This thread prompted me to check all my Fico's and compare to Vantage side by side.....
Experian is the biggest MESS.
Experian Vantage 11 accounts / oldest card 48 years old
Experian Fico 6 accounts / oldest card 9 years 11 months ???????
I understand some don't report to experian at ALL but how can it be reported to experian Vantage and not Fico?????? Credit is a pure scam is you ask me
One difference might be AU accounts. VantageScore always counts AU accounts. Fico 8 and Fico 9 may ignore AU accounts - even though the older Fico 98 and Fico 04 models always include them.
Another difference might be that some 3rd party summaries may include closed accounts while others do not include them - that is specific to the 3rd party presentation summary, not the scoring model. For example, CK calculates AAoA based on open accounts only while VantageScore actually includes closed accounts when evaluating the AAoA attribute.

BBS...That is of course how CK makes their income, and provides the service for free. I'll also say for the most part CK is worth exactly what you pay for it. I guess for some alerts it does have some usefullness.
I use CK simply for weekly updates to my TU/EQ reports. That's it. I don't even use their alerts really. Recently TT turned me on to the auto/home insurance scores that they provide, so I do see some added value in that department as well. Everything else really is just fluff and IMO completely irrelevant. I just think it's important that people, especially those newer to credit or CK that may not know any better realize that the fluff and irrelevant stuff really isn't at all worthwhile.

I also saw TT post about the insurance scores. Mine was really high, but I'm not sure I'll ever even need that. It is a free site though so the value of it is roughly what I pay for it. I think only those who are new to monitoring their credit find real value in CK or Credit Sesame. Once we get a little more educated we usually find fico scores for free at creditscorecard.com or elsewhere.
Sarge12,
If you don't mind sharing, what are your latest CBIS Auto and Home scores? Also, did they drop as a result of the new credit/HPs you mentioned in another thread?
