CreditKarma

Got an email From CreditKarma:

We received some very insightful feedback from many of our members over the past few months.

The most common question concerned confusion over our credit score range and how it could be compared to other score ranges. Well, we heard you loud and clear and I am happy to announce that we are making some changes.

Credit Karma is now retrieving a different score from credit bureaus. Effective immediately, all scores will change from the 150 - 950 range to the standard 300 - 850 range. We believe this will remove any remaining confusion about the credit score and how it works.

What do you have to do? Nothing. Simply log into your account as you normally would to access your new score. Plus, based on this new range, we’ve even recalculated your past score(s) so you can continue to track and trend your information.

We hope you find this change useful, and again, thank you for your continued support. Please keep your comments and suggestions coming. We need your feedback as we strive to make Credit Karma the best it can be. Together, we can change the consumer credit landscape.

The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Is that an educated guess or are you sure? My Transrisk score on my Sea Miles card as of 8/18/2008 is 658. My CK score as of today is 701.

Re: CreditKarma

Guess. It's been following my transrisk score exactly. I have had 4 changes already to CK and transrisk. Changes matched. But I no evidence. I will correct that to "strongly believe". Thank you for correcting me.

I wouldn't correct you I was just asking because my scores are so far apart.

No. You were correct. I have this thing about being accurate and I left out where I formed my conclusion. Just a personal thing of mine to always present a source when ever offering information other than opinion. Smiley Happy Taken in no bad manner. I am glad you questioned it. Please feel free to correct me if I am ever wrong. That's part of how we learn. I may be making a bigger issue out of this than it is, but I try really hard to present accurate info so leaving out where I formed a conclusion is kind of a big thing for me to forget to include. Re: CreditKarma

There could be some patent issues with CK changing their scoring range, FI has a patent on the scoring range of 300-850.

Re: CreditKarma

Trans Risk by TC shows a legend from 300-850 and follows with this statement.

"Generally, credit scores range between 300 and 850" It doesn't specifically state that Trans Risk uses this general score range but does show your score on a sliding scale that ranges form 300-850. But could not find specific wording to state 300-850 for Trans Risk on TC.
