myFico peeps,
I have both experian and myfico.com credit monitoring. Just noticed today that my Fico 8 scores are different between the two specifically for Equifax; @ a 25 point different. Shouldn't they be the same?
A few things to Note:
thanks.
Only 3 ingredients go into a credit score. The scoring model used, the bureau data used and the moment in time that these first 2 pieces of data were used. If you're seeing a score variance, one or more of these variables is different. It sounds like you're comparing two EQ Fico 8 scores, meaning that the scoring model and bureau data is a constant. That can only mean then that the two scores were generated at different points in time and that there was differing bureau data that went into each score pull.

Experian is very quick to update. I've had myFICO 3B+ ($39.95) and Experian CreditWorks Premium ($24.99) for 5 months now, and I've already seen the difference you experienced more than a few times.
I just wait for the final balance update of the month to be reported through myFICO alerts before I get my monthly 3B report.
Experian will have those scores a day or two earlier.

@brutalbodyshots I totally get what you’re saying but my question is should they be the same score. If I generate my Fico8 score at the same exact time from the CBs should the score be the same since they should be using the score metrics for Fico8?
The score is generated at EQ using their scoring module, with their own data. It's not generated by Experian or myFICO.
For some reason or another, myFICO doesn't see the updates at the same time as Experian.
For example: right now Experian shows the correct statement balance for the first card that reports this month. If I were to pull a myFICO 3B report right now it would have the old score with the old statement balance.

It depends on if the score is actually being generated (as in refreshed/updated) at the same time, or if you're simply pulling up an old score at the same time. Next to your score(s) you should see a date that it was generated. One source may have provided you with a new score on the 25th of last month and the other source on the 1st of this month. If you log back into the source of the score from the 25th, the score you're seeing is likely still from the 25th and didn't necessarily update on the 1st.
