Equifax Question

Hi,

My husband and I recently paid off a ton of bills and have been watching our scores rise slowly as the accounts have updated to the 3 CB's as either paid in full or current. One thing I noticed is that our Equifax score seems to trail the others by at least 50 points for both of us. Interestingly, the least amount of our bills reported to this CB and most of those that have reported to this bureau have long been closed but not updated to reflect this. It seems that some creditors dont report currents to this bureau, only the negs. Is this true for anyone else?

Questions....

Why is our score so low at this bureau in comparison to the other two?

Should I close the accts at this bureau which were paid off in  '01, '02,  '03, and '05 which are still showing as open. Note - these accounts last reported during the years when they were paid off.

All accounts show -0- balance but open. Some of them have an amount for our monthly payment. Does this impact our scores, and if so, how?

Any suggestions.

Thanks for all.

Re: Equifax Question

Leave the open accts with zero balances alone-

Ask your creditors why they are not reporting to Equifax...

There is a chance that EQ has or is missing something to match the data to or you live in a part of the country that EQ is not important enough to report to.
