1) If I get AU on parents Amex and bump good credit history from 11 to 35 years.
2) If I can get rid of the old Cap1 (1283) account
3) If I can get rid of the Paid Colleciton (Efx)
4) If I can get rid of the unpaid Collecitons (TU)
5) IF I can get rid of the lien (or when it drops off in March)

Re: Estimate bump with parents Amex AU?

Well, I am just terrible at guesstimating bumps, so I will let others give it a try, but I'll point out something that probably didn't occur to you. I added on as AU on my husband's Discover card and went from 3 / 12 years history (average/ overall) to 4 / 18 years, and wound up getting re-bucketed. I lost 15 points on EQ (651 to 636.) My scores recovered pretty quickly and have since moved on, but any derogs hurt a LOT when you're in a long history bucket, because this is atypical behavior for those with history going way back.

Not saying don't do it; just be aware that there's a lot more to it that picking up some years. Smiley Wink

edit: BTW, the re-bucketing happened a couple of weeks later, after I had gotten nice and comfortable with my new status. Ouch. (I wouldn't have figured it out if it hadn't been for the Scorewatch alert.)

Re: Estimate bump with parents Amex AU?

Thanks for the reply, I've heard a bit about rebucketing. Makes sense on one hand, not on another (apples to apples and all that).

I'm thinking there is a good chance that 1 or more of the two unpaid collections will disappear after the dispute, and we have GW letters out for the paid medical (if that doesnt work I am asking the Dr. to tell the CA that they reported in error).

The lien will be off by May, so in theory, the very best my reports will look by then;

Discover 11 Year/$100/$10300 CL
Citi 2 Year $10 Bal/$10300 CL
Citi 2 Year $10 Bal/$7300 CL
Amex 35 Year $0 Bal/$8,000 High-Balance

That should be good enough for 720+ no?
