Thank you, I have some Paulaner in the fridge that I think I’m gonna dig into tonight - feels good to be rid of a no-longer-needed rebuilder. Plus, my AmEx HH Ascend card arrived in the mail today and has happily taken the place of the Indigo in my wallet Smiley Happy

Re: Proof that on my profile, even 6-1/2 year old lates hurt

I have a 6 1/2 year $250k Charge off on my TU and EQ that isn't on my Experian.  Difference in score is 720's for TU and EQ and 770's for Experian.

And it might not matter much but when I had the charge off on my Amex card I was getting approved for 1k limits. Soon as it got off  I got 30k starting limits.  Chase, BOA, Barclay and Citi didn't seem to care at all though.  Maybe they charged me a higher interest rates on their 20k+ plus starting limits but I don't look at the interest rates so I am not sure.

Frogman1, good info. Amazing that even with so much time passed, there can be that much damage to a profile. I’m definitely going after my derogs with some extra energy this spring to see if I can expedite their removals. 1k vs 30k is enormous - I’m not expecting that, but getting $5-8k SLs would be more than enough in my case.

Until late last year, there was a ~50 point gap between my Experian and Equifax scores (which had a 6.5-year-old 30-day late), and my TransUnion score (which did not). The former were 750ish; the latter hovered around 800.

Since the late dropped, they've been roughly on par.

I think this information is rapidly shooting holes in the theory that 30-lates stop hurting much after two years.
