As already mentioned, Study, study, and study some more until you BEGIN to have some form of a handle on how the scoring is applied directly to your credit profile.

 

Can't count the times (and just watch, there will be many others) who not only were shocked over the score drop from letting all cards report 0 balance, but wait until new headers pop up in topics like, "I just paid off my car loan, personal loan etc. in full with no other loans left and my FICO really went down 15-20 points Smiley Mad

 

And that's yet another, one of the most fumed about avenues of contention which catches people off-guard all of the time. 

 

And will continue to until people learn the habits of this scoring system and how it affects them directly, in this particular instance (The Loan Mix Category).

 

Knowledge in these matters are beneficial in many more ways than one. Smiley Wink
