FICO SCORE Shock ... hit 850

Decided to take a look at all three credit bureaus and check my scores. No change I figured as I seem to have plateaued. Was sitting around 818 to 835 for a couple of years. Age of Accounts 18 years and AAOA 8 years. Shocked me to find the 300 to 850 bell ring! Well what new excitement shall I pursue? Smiley Very Happy

Will add, learning on this MYFICO Board is what helped me find a new credit life after "bottom feeding" for a long time!

Sweet.  If you AAoA is 8 years (and your AoOA 18 years) in theory you could have been at 850 as much as 6 months ago, but if you weren't checking your scores frequently you wouldn't have known.

Good point ... confess I missed that. As you state it, I think somewhere on this board is a write up explaining that. Interesting.

Re: FICO SCORE Shock ... hit 850

Congratulations on hitting the 850!  Great accomplishment!

I just thought I would share that after a long 7 year or so rebuild, I found yesterday that I hit 850 as well, however it is on the Fico 9 model!  I think it will be a few months before Fico 8 will allow me to get there, but after such a long rebuild it felt great to see the 850!

Re: FICO SCORE Shock ... hit 850

I'm 5 days away from my last scoreable inquiry on EQ going away, which will allow me to hit 850 there to complete my 850 FICO 8 trifecta.  I'm curious what will happen to my BCE score, which sits at 875.  I wonder what the difference is in terms of scoring impact of an inquiry on Classic 8 vs Bankcard Enhanced 8... anyone know having compared the two in the past?  I'm guessing I'll land at 880+, but not sure exactly what to expect.

Looking at my EQ BCE scores, an inquiry costs 7 to 11 points nominally on BCE. Generally an inquiry is half that amount on the Classic Fico counterpart (say 5 points). In your case my guess would be a score in the 882 to 886. See below pastes. For the top one data points in blue are months with zero inquiries and those in red are one inquiry. [within group score fluctuations primarily due to changes in # cards reporting balances]
